小学生が習うような算数の問題を英語で表すとどうなるか書かれています。子供に算数を教えるついでに自分も勉強しているのですが、なかなか英語で端的に言い換えるのは難しくて良い訓練になっています。英語を母国語とする国では他の教科も当然英語で学習するでしょうし、英会話以前にこうした知識の有無もネイティブとの違いになるんでしょうね。。。以下、ちょっと参考までいくつか問題を引用します。答えは続きを読むにあります。
- １本１１０円の缶ジュースがあります。８９０円で何本買えますか。
- ３．５ｇの砂糖を１袋に０．８ｇずつ入れます。何袋できて、何ｇ余るでしょうか。
- ５クラスで試合をします。どのクラスとも１回ずつ対戦するとき、対戦の組み合わせは何通りありますか。
- コインを３回投げたとき、表と裏の出方には何通りありますか。
- Each can of juice costs 110 yen. How many cans can we buy with 890 yen.
- 3.5g (Three point five grams) of sugar will be devided into several bags each of which contains 0.8g (zero point eight gram) of sugar. How many bags will be made, and how many grams of sugar will be left?
- Matches will be held among 5 (five) classes. Each class will meet each of the other classes only once. How many combinations of matches will there be?
- When tossing a coin three times, how many permutations of heads and tails are possible?
